New Year's Resolutions

Can you believe that 2014 is nearly over? We don’t know about you, but to us it seems that each year flies past quicker than the last. We’re hoping that 2015 is going to be the most successful year yet! So to do this, instead of choosing just one New Year’s resolution, we’ve compiled a list of 3 things to leave behind, to start the year off on a fresh note. It’s like a spring (summer) clean of one’s life:

     1. Get rid of clothing you no longer need

A lot of the time, we keep clothing from years gone by, because of the memories they hold for us. Maybe that Matric dance dress you’ve kept at the back of your cupboard for ages, or those tight bootleg jeans you used to squeeze into back in high school. Even though they’re great to hold on to for memory’s sake, think of the many people out there who’d love to wear them right now. You could even try selling them, and the money you make could go towards something great you can wear today.

     2. Get rid of books you’ll never read

Come on. We know you do it too – a section of your bookshelf is filled with books that you think you should read, but in reality, you don’t have the time. Why not donate these books to a local library or high school where they’ll be put to much better use. This way you’ll make space for books you really want to read!
     3. Get rid of old grudges
Okay, so we’re getting a bit more serious now. But let’s be honest – sometimes the heaviest baggage we carry around with us is held inside. Everyone has been done wrong by someone in the past – whether it’s your co-worker who let you down or a girlfriend who stole your guy, these memories can remain with us, making you blue whenever you’re reminded of them. And the truth is, often the people who wronged us have forgotten all about it! So the only person who remains affected by it, is you.
These three tips are just a start, but why not give them a go and see how you feel? After all, a spring clean is as good as a holiday.
