Tembi Mdlalo | Real Relations

Part of being a successful entrepreneur involves keeping your eyes open for opportunities to apply your unique idea. That’s exactly what Tembi Mdlalo did when she started Real Relations; a company that acts as your virtual personal assistant.

Tembi says: “I realised that I could still be a PA but on my own terms and my own time…I spotted a gap in the virtual space.”. With her passion and vast industry experience, Tembi set off on her entrepreneurial adventure in starting Real Relations. She has worked with a number of high-profile individuals over the years including the Oppenheimer family, HRH Zenani Mandela and Mrs Ntsiki Biko. It’s this experience and her keen eye for opportunity that gave her the tools she needed.

When talking about how the Branson Centre of Entrepreneurship has helped her, Tembi says the experience has given her amazing opportunities to network and make important business contacts. She says the Centre has opened doors for her business and taught her the value of collaborations and partnerships.

The future looks bright for Real Relations with moves toward owning office space, hosting international conferences and even developing an app for the business!

Tembi’s advice for young budding entrepreneurs is: “Know and understand your business. Think beyond the borders of our country for doing business, learn from other entrepreneurs and be open for partnerships and collaborations with other entrepreneurs.  Attend networking sessions and build relationships. Learn to be a better negotiator.”.
