Vat and Pricing Amendments

We have made price adjustments to our products and services, which will include the VAT amendment to 15%. Most prices have been increased due to government regulated Value Added Tax (VAT) increase from 1 April, 2018.

1. What is the increase in my Services related to?
Compliance with legislation, most billable services will be subject to the VAT increase as communicated by the Minister of Finance in the Budget Speech.
 
2. I have a 24-month contract at a fixed price. Shouldn’t the VAT increase only apply after this period?
The VAT increase is a government regulated change and all South African companies have to comply with effect from 1 April 2018.
 
3. Which of my Virgin Mobile services will be impacted?
Some of our billable services including bundle services, out-of-bundle rates for voice, messaging and data will be impacted by the VAT increase.
 
4. What happens if I am changing my tariff this month?
The new pricing will take effect from 01 April 2018 on most chargeable services in order to comply with the VAT legislation.
 
5. What will I pay in April?
We are working on the implementation of the VAT increase across all our services and the new pricing can be found on //bit.ly/2FWqLDc 
 
6. Are pre-paid customers impacted by the VAT increase?
Prepaid services are subject to VAT therefore impacted by the VAT legislation.
 
7. What will pre-paid customers pay from 1 April?

8. Will recharge vouchers be more expensive?
The recharge voucher values will remain the same but the cost of the calls and data you use are subject to the VAT increase.
