USSD Codes:

To load airtime: *102* Voucher Pin# 

To check your balance:
  • Prepaid: *101# 
  • Postpaid: *101# 
To send a Please Call me: *125*Number#

Voicemail:

To set up your voicemail: Dial 121 and follow the voice prompts.

To activate the Voicemail Diverts: Dial **004*08414 last 9 digits of your mobile #

EG:**004*08414741000123#

To cancel all Voicemail Diverts: Dial ##002#

Calls:

 Outgoing Calls: 

  • Please make sure your phone has signal 
  • Make sure you have no call-barring turned on. To find this go to: Settings> Call Settings> Call Barring
  • If you get the following errors please call us on 123 and we’ll help sort you out:
      - Service suspended
      - Account is locked 
 
Incoming calls: 
  • Please make sure your phone has signal 
  • Make sure your number is not diverted to another number by dialling: *#21*11# 
  • If there are any diverts on your number, you can cancel them by dialling: ##21*11#
  • Make sure you have no call-barring turned on. To find this go to: Settings> Call Settings> Call Barring

SMS

Outgoing SMSs 

  • Please make sure your phone has signal
  • Please make sure the SMS centre number is correct (+27741000050)
  • Alternatively, test your SIM card on other handset
 
Incoming SMSs
  • Please make sure your phone has signal
  • Delete your old SMSs to ensure your inbox isn’t full
  • Alternatively, test your SIM card on other handset

If you can’t connect to the network, try the following:

BlackBerry®

To Activate your BlackBerry®

Post pay and bring your Own BlackBerry®:
Please contact our BlackBerry® Support Centre on 123 and follow the voice prompts to request activation.

Prepaid:
To activate BlackBerry® Internet Service (BIS):

  • BIS for 7 days: *121*5*7#
  • BIS for 14 days:*121*5*14#
  • BIS for 30 days:*121*5*30#

If you are unable to connect and BIS was activated, try the following:

Your phone is showing GSM, GPRS, EDGE or 3
Make sure your data connection is active by following these steps:

  • Go to your home screen>
  • Manage Connections>
  • Check the Mobile Network box>
  • Select Network and Connections>
  • Select Mobile Network>
  • Data Services should be turned ON
  • Make sure the Network Mode is 3G and 2G
  • If this doesn’t work, turn off your phone, take out the battery then put it back in again and start up.

BIS is activated and signal is showing EDGE or 3G with a BlackBerry® icon and is unable to connect
You will need to delete and re-download the Service Books. Don’t worry! It’s not as hard as it sounds.

If you’re on OS 5.0:

  • Go to Menu >
  • Options >
  • Advanced Options >
  • Service Book >
  • Highlight each Service Book one at a time
  • Menu >
  • Remove / Delete >
  • Back to Advanced Options >
  • Host Routing Table >
  • Menu >
  • Register Now

Or if you have a phone with OS 6.0 or above:

  • Go to Menu >
  • Options >
  • Device >
  • Advanced System Settings >
  • Service Book >
  • Highlight each Service Book one at a time
  • Menu >
  • Remove / Delete >
  • Host Routing Table >
  • Advanved System Settings >
  • Menu >
  • Register Now


To set up your email:

Using your cellphone:

  • Go to Menu >
  • Setup >
  • Email Accounts >
  • Internet Mail Account >
  • Choose your service provider from the list >
  • Enter your email address and password to continue

If your service provider is not on the list:

  • Select other >
  • Enter your email address and password to continue >
  • Your cellphone will automatically download your email settings


Using the web client to set up your email on your BlackBerry®

Access the Internet from your PC and type in the address below:
http://www.virginmobilesa.blackberry.com

  • Click on Create A New Account >
  • Agree to the Terms and Conditions >
  • Enter your Device Pin (BBM Pin) and IMEI number in the required fields >
  • Click Continue >
  • Create a username and password >
  • Click Continue >
  • Enter the email address and password >
  • Click Continue >

The web client will download your email settings and create the account on your cellphone automatically. No mess. No fuss.
