Steve ran The London Marathon on Sunday 17th April and said that it was the most unbelievable event he had ever been to. The streets were lined with people cheering their encouragement for the runners. There were people running in full cricket kit including pads, men in tutus, jugglers and many many more. Steve completed the requisite 42.2 kilometres in 5 hours, 59 minutes and 36 seconds in honour of his chosen charity, SOS Children's Villages. They go a long way to help orphaned and vulnerable children in South Africa and educate communities about strengthening families in order to minimise the impact of HIV and AIDS. In essence, the generous souls at SOS Children's Villages and the children who benefit from their support run their own marathon every day, and Steve wanted to do what he could to support them.
